Scientific Director, PHARMO
Dr. Herings is the Scientific Director and a founder of the PHARMO Institute. He is trained as pharmacist, holds a PhD in pharmacoepidemiology from Utrecht University and is specialized in the design, governance, implementation and analyses of large research database networks detailing the use of pharmaceuticals and associated outcomes in daily practice. He is an author of more than 350 scientific publications, reports, book chapters and has supervised more than 500 research projects performed for national and EU governmental organisations, pharmaceutical industries and several universities. Dr. Herings is member of the editorial board of several medical journals and served among others as board member and is a fellow (FISPE) of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology.
