Rients van Wijngaarden is currently Senior Data Scientist at the PHARMO Institute. He acts as a linking pin between the daily practice of collecting data from healthcare providers and the use of this data in scientific research. His activities range from data processing and data quality monitoring to record linkage and acting as an advisor in research projects. Over the years he has become an expert on the possibilities and pitfalls of Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) data.
Rients van Wijngaarden attained his Masters degree in the field of Artificial Intelligence and is currently working on his PhD thesis on dynamic prediction models in diabetes complications.
